Type Locality and Naming

Along the ridges of Dzhalkyr and Aimakhal, Zirabulak-Ziaetdin Mountains. V.S. Korsakov, E.S. Sorokin, E.I. Barkovskaya, 1960 (165, p.65).

Synonym: Dzhalkyr-Aimakhalskaya Suite, Джалкыраймахальская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Banded, gray to black, slightly dolomitic, often siliceous, amphiporoid, layered limestones Thickness 550-850m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lower boundary stratigraphically conformable with the Pyazyn Fm

Upper contact

Upper boundary is conformable with the Maizak Fm.

Regional extent

Zirabulak-Ziaetdin Mountains, ridges of Dzhalkyr and Aimakhal. Is an age equivalent of the Kochkarlin Fm.
